报告题目

Satellite Gravimetry and Climate Change

报告内容

Satellite gravity observations from the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) provide a unique means for monitoring large-scale mass change and redistribution on a global basis. The over 14 years of GRACE data have revealed a coherent picture of large-scale climate and environmental change features, including excessive groundwater depletions, severe droughts and floods, ice melting from polar ice sheets and mountain glaciers, and global sea level rise. This presentation will show example applications of using GRACE satellite gravity data in monitoring different components of the Earth climate system, and discuss major challenges in using satellite gravity measurements.
